Women Serving in WW1
Although women were not allowed to be on the battlefield, over 25,000 American women served over seas in World War One. Women put their heart and soul into serving their country by entertaining troops, serving as nurses, and working as telephone operators (Goldstein War and Gender). Without the courage and perseverance of these women, men fighting in war would’ve been in need of many resources. Knowing just how hard these roles would be, women went to war anyway to serve their beloved country.
