Women in Propaganda
Due to the heavy amount of propaganda used in WWI, this war is sometimes described as “the poster war”. With women playing such a huge role in the war, their images were plastered on posters used to empower women (World War One,2011).
Rosie the Riveter

Entitled, "Rosie the Riveter", this poster features a women with her hair tied back looking serious and ready to work. With the slogan "We Can Do It!", this poster empowered women all over America (World War One,2011).
American Red Cross

This poster was presented by the Red Cross. It shows a woman busy knitting a piece of clothing for the troops over seas. The poster reads "You can help". A simple slogan was enough to show women that they too could contribute to the war effort (World War One, 2011).

This poster was presented by the Y.W.C.A. The message of this poster was to get woman to support the Y.W.C.A. A “Hello Girl” is featured in uniform with the soliders outside hr window. This is very powerimage and the slogan “Back our girls over there” urges women to come together to support the woman overseas (World War One,2011).
